Be able to share all your information quickly and easily with friends and people in your network is very handy. The app my facecard attempts to capture all of your online identities in one convenient business card format. Bump technology is built right in, so if you meet a friend who is also a My Facecard user, you can swap details by simply bumping phones.
I however, often take exception to an app that attempts to do something that dozens of other apps already do. I tend to hold the “johnny come-latelys” to a higher standard than the pioneers. When considering an app like My Facecard I ask a few simple questions like; “does it do this better than everyone else’s app?”, and “Does it do something the other guys don’t do?”. In the case of My Facecard, I will give them credit for allowing the user to personalize their face card graphic, and making sure it’s easy to spread via social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, and BLogger. So in general, I would say yes, they have made sure to cover all the bases and get a few new bells and whistles thrown in for good measure.
My Facecard makes it easy gather up all the different facets of your online persona into one tidy package, let’s you dress it up with custom fonts for your name, choose a photo for wallpaper, or take a photo from your phone. You can do quite a bit of customization to make sure that your Facecard looks nothing like anyone else’s Facecard.
I have a few qualms with some of the UI and the design aesthetic, but other than that, I’d say it is worth a buck.
