Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Review

In Grand Theft Auto we take a trip back to the days of big hair, shell suits and cheesy music. Yes, it’s the 1980s and Vice City returns with the story of one man’s journey to the top of the criminal elite. Vice City sounds like it may have had Florida (and Miami in particular) in mind and the urban sprawl and ghetto lands of drugs, crime, murders and vice begin at the beach front and don’t end until you reach the swamps.

In between all this urban sprawl and ghetto heartland is the glamour, the glitz and the down right dirty – this is Vice City. It’s a ghetto that always was one of the most varied, complete and living cities ever developed for the digital age. Rich wealthy gangsters, businessmen, runners and poor urban ghettos mix with a vibrant beach where parties are a daily way of life. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City combines an open world game play action with a character driven narrative.

Go into the city and find the glitz, the glamour and the bright lights that await you. But along with the opulence and wealth lies a dark, seedy side of degradation, deprivation and slimy crime. You can choose where you want to go and select how you change Vice City to suit your preferences.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’s developers, Rock Star Games is celebrating its 10th anniversary and this is the special app it has given us to help them mark this milestone. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has a number of high resolution graphics, controls that are right up to date and a plethora of new features.

Among the new features are updated graphics which are visually stunning, lighting effects and great character models. You will need precise targeting options for when you fire and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City does not disappoint. There is a new customizable layout with customized controls and you can now save your game on the iCloud platform.

Other great new features include support for retina display and countless hours of game play. You can even choose the music you play by accessing a customized iTunes playlist; simply create a playlist and call it VICECITY, the open the app, and select the radio station TAPEDECK. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a huge file, so I’d recommend closing all other applications when you play.
