Backpack Harry is a game with a retro feel about it, and one where you will need to use your imagination. You see, as your progress through the levels, you get to build new worlds. These new worlds are unique and have your name written all over them. If you are confident that these worlds will be liked and loved by the millions of other players of Back Pack Harry, then why not share?
You will get the feeling of being a gaming developer when playing. A lot of the game involves developing the new world you have just created. And much of the action is retro-style too. You will run, jump, bounce and fly around until you are dizzy. But all of these actions are necessary if you wish to win.
Is it fast-paced? Yes. Is it frenetic? Yes. Is it frustrating? Certainly can be. But once you start to build your new world, the entire pace is slowed down somewhat. There is a level editor built in to the game. Here you can install your own traps, place enemies for others to fight, create obstacles, discover hidden corners and underground hiding places, plus work out what prizes you can give out as collectible bonuses.
If you want, you can be sneaky, cruel and devious and set traps and create monster enemies. There are three different world sizes so you can get to work on any of your devious traps and hidden corners almost right away. One thing we don’t recommend is to make your world too devious and difficult, as a challenge that proves too great might frighten some players off.
There is much to create in this game and all of it can come from your very own imagination. You may, for example, want to create an automatic runner level, or perhaps create a level where you can and must fly. After all, you’ll find a jetpack in there somewhere, so you may as well use it.
If you want to combine everything together in one big world, you must select the large world as your option of choice; this will allow you to throw everything at the game, but, be warned, it may take some time.
Naturally, if you just want to play Back Pack Harry and cannot be bothered to develop and create your own worlds, you can. There are two levels already loaded in the game – and it is worth trying to get to know the game by playing it before you attempt the development stage.
