A good drinking game will bring people together, make them laugh, challenge them and most importantly, get all participants pretty bloody squiffy. Everyone has their favourite from King’s Cup, 21 and Roxanne to Never Have I Ever, Beer Pong and Flip Cup. So it’s a hard task to break into the market and carve out a space for yourself, but developer Drink-O-Tron has attempted just that with their new drinking app game Drunk Potato.
Taking inspiration from the much-loved children’s game hot potato, whereby a bean bag is tossed around a circle to music until the sound stops and whoever is left holding the bag in silence is out of the game. Drunk Potato kicks things off with the ‘funniest’ member of the group answering the first question/completing a task then promptly passing the phone to the person on the left. When the timer runs out whoever is left holding the phone has to have a drink.
The questions/tasks themselves are pretty bloody cheeky so you can expect some hilarious and/or awkward moments to come up when someone is asked when the last time they masturbated was or to hand the game to whoever is ‘dumber’ than themselves. If a player doesn’t feel like answering or completing the questions/tasks in front of them for fear of embarrassment or cruelty then they can opt to pass with a three drink penalty.
Drunk Potato is free to download and is available for both iOS and Android users. If you want access to an additional 1000+ questions then you can pay an additional $0.99 to get your Drunk Potato ‘fully loaded’. For a fun and free drinking game that you can whip out at a moments notice, without any additional equipment, Drunk Potato is definitely worth the download space for a few night of drunken silliness and frivolity.
