Who would have ever thought that a padlock with the ability to unlock it with my fingerprint would be one of the things that I must have in my life. I never thought of it being necessary for anything. However, I’ve managed to get my hands on a Tapplock One and now I’m wondering why haven’t I had this before.
Just like your iPhone TouchID the Tapplock uses your fingerprint to unlock. Amazingly you can store up to 500 fingerprints, perfect for companies with a number of employees that would need access to whatever you use the padlock to secure. Tapplock One as an adaptive algorithm and learns your fingerprint so it gives you more accurate and faster access each time you uses it. If you are worried that you are not in a position to use your fingerprint to open the padlock, you will be happy to know that you can unlock it via Bluetooth or set a morse code. With only two hours charge the Tapplock one battery with last for a year. The lock is water and weather resistant so it can be used outside without any issues. Like the manual states, the lock can function between -10C and 60C.
Setting up the lock requires the Tapplock App from either Appstore or Google Playstore. You then register and walk through the instructions to add the lock. Once the lock is added you can then easily add fingerprint as well. You can then setup the morse code for a backup unlocking method.
The Tapplock amazed me when I took it out the box. I was surprised how sturdy and heavy duty it was. It’s certainly better than a lot of everyday padlocks that you will find on the market at the moment. For $99, it’s well worth having a lock that is highly secure and saves you a lot of time fumbling around for keys.
