There are people who think that spending hundreds of pounds on a fancy coffee machine or going to the local Starbucks is the best way to enjoy a decent cup of coffee. Yes, you do get a selection of different type of coffee from these machines but what if you just want the normal old fashion filtered stuff. Why spend hundreds when you can pick up a machine for less than £50 and have your coffee ready for you in the morning. The Melitta EasyTop Timer Filter Coffee Machine is perfect.
I’ve been using the Melitta for a few weeks now and I simply set the timer and wake up to the amazing smell of fresh filtered coffee. If I’m not out of bed the machine keeps the coffee warm for as long as 30 minutes. I haven’t been a fan of filtered coffee but since I find myself buying at least 2 – 3 Lattes a day at a price of £2.40 each, I thought I have to start cutting back. I have to say, It’s the best thing I’ve done. I wake up, have a coffee, and then prepare another one to take with me to work. I am saving on average £32 per week from a machine that only cost £49. I know it’s not the fancy coffee that you get from the shop or from a £400 machine but if you’re into filtered coffee then the Melitta is a must have.
The machine is small but sturdy and weighs about 1.5kg. It’s really easy to clean either by handwash or dishwasher. The Melitta EasyTop can prepare up to 10 cups of coffee at once. The built-in timer can be set at different intervals to correlate with your alarm clock in the morning. There is an auto shut off which means that if you accidentally leave the machine on then you won’t have to worry. It’s got a lovely blue LED display that looks great in the dark and it means that when I come downstairs in the morning I don’t need to start switching on all the lights in the house. The water gauge makes sure I put enough for the cups of coffee I require.
I already mentioned the price but I will again. For £49 you get a great coffee machine which makes tasty coffee. My favourite feature is the fact that the coffee can be kept warm for at least 30 minutes.
