Jeff Bezos the Amazon founder has unveiled plans to send a spaceship to the moon by 2024. It seems the billionaire is following the footsteps of Virgin boss Richard Branson and Tesla CEO Elon Musk who had already have plans to send people into space.
Bezos revealed the unmanned lander on Thursday at the Washington Convention Center which is appropriately named the Blue Moon. The spaceship will be able to launch satellites to orbit the moon and carry scientific instruments on launch.
The timeline of 2024 will be met due to the fact that they started 3 years ago, according to the Bezos.
The Amazon boss seems to have big plans and would hope to send humans there as well:
One of the most important things we know about the moon today is that there’s water there. It’s in the form of ice. It’s in the permanently shadowed craters on the poles of the moon.
