Previously, Apple released a new iPhone generation in a specific year and the “S” or the “Plus” version later. However, after the iPhone 8 Plus, Apple went straight to iPhone X model name, instead of iPhone 9 and iPhone 9S. Today, there are also iPhone XR and XS variants. CoinX, a well-known tipster in the smartphone industry recently divulged that the next iPhone model will have the “Pro” name. So, it won’t be iPhone 11 next. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. There are multiple possibilities related to this new iPhone model.
- Scenario #1: The iPhone Pro with a 5.8-inch display and another iPhone Pro version with a 6.5-inch display, are actually rebranded iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max. Another device unusually called as iPhone (2019) will be the replacement for the iPhone XR.
- Scenario #2: The iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max are the successors of the iPhone XS and XS Max. In this case, the iPhone (2019) will still be the replacement for iPhone XR.
- Scenario #3: There will actually the iPhone 11 soon and it’s a direct replacement for iPhone X. The iPhone 11 Pro will be the replacement for iPhone XS Max. However, the replacement for iPhone XR will be the iPhone 11R.
If any of this scenario is true, it will be a new addition to the iPhone naming, because it’s the first time we a Pro iPhone model. Regardless of the naming, the upcoming 2019 iPhone model will have a square-shaped camera on the back placed in the top left corner. Leaks say that the device will have a 12MP camera with an ultra-wide sensor. There will be the new Smart Frame feature that allows the camera to capture information outside the frame of the photo, to allow adjustments and more accurate cropping. Other new additions are reverse wireless charging and a bigger battery. Two other big enhancements are iOS 13 version and A13 Bionic processors.
