Samsung Officially Releases Galaxy W20 5G

Samsung has released the W20 5G, its second foldable model. However, it’s not an entirely new device, but rather the same Galaxy Fold with some design modifications. It has white finish, stronger central higher and squarer edges.  Just like the original Galaxy Fold, the display of W20 5G measures 7.3-inch when unfolded and 4.5-inch when folded. On top of the internal display, there are two cameras, 10Mp and 8Mp. The rear-facing triple-lens camera comprises of 12Mp primary lens, 12Mp telephoto and 16Mp ultra wide angle. The front-facing camera is the solitary 10Mp lens. These are similar arrangements with the original Fold.

The Samsung Galaxy W20G remains a flagship model with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The 4235mAh battery supports wireless charging technology, as well as reverse wireless charging. With AKG-balanced stereo dual speakers, you could have enhanced experience when playing music or watching film.  For enhanced gaming experience, the W20 5G has the powerful Adreno 640 GPU running at 675MHz. The QXGA+ (2152 x 1536) 7.3-inch display will require a lot of processing power to work properly. However, powerful SoC will ensure that Galaxy W20 5G remains smooth when opening Maps or intensive 3D games. Regardless of the impressive hardware specs, fast charging is one feature that Chinese consumers will be missing. For a device with large battery capacity, fast charging is an important feature to have.

For faster local transfer of data, the internal storage is supported by UFS 3.0 to support the large capacity space. The Android 9.0 Pie is relatively new operating system and could be updated to Android 10 in the near future. The primary security feature is side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The display of Galaxy W20 5G is equipped with HDR10+ to significantly contrast ratio and brightness for comfortable outdoors use. With the relatively large-capacity battery, the Galaxy W20 5G should be operational for one and half day with regular usages. But, with binge video watching, continuous gaming and running multiple apps simultaneously could last for one day.

The Galaxy W20 5G is released on for the Chinese market and will be available for consumers from December. Local pricing has yet to revealed, but it shouldn’t be too different from the Fold.
