OnePlus 8 Pro is Unintentionally Leaked in a Photo

It isn’t known whether this is an intentional marketing ploy, but Robert Downey Jr. was seen holding an unannounced device, the OnePlus 8 Pro. Even if this isn’t staged, OnePlus still benefits from the buzz and the free publicity. The official announcement of the OnePlus 8 Pro is rumored to take place in approximately one month. The picture was first posted on Sam Jones’ Instagram page and then it’s deleted quickly. This fact may debunk the conspiracy theory, but it is quite interesting to see how the phone looks in the flesh, although we only get a partial view of the rear cover of the phone. But, it is enough for us to know a little more about the OnePlus 8 Pro.

On the back, there are four cameras, with three arranged in vertical orientation, similar to the previous OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro. The fourth sensor seems to be used for improved AR experience. It seems that the OnePlus 8 Pro will follow the footsteps of the recent Samsung’s smartphone models, including the Galaxy S20+. Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Note 10+ with their Time-of-Flight 3D sensor. Unfortunately, there’s nothing else of significant we may glean from the Downey’s photograph. Even so, the spec sheet of the phone isn’t really a top secret. We already have a pretty good idea about how the regular OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Lite would be.

The 8 Pro should still have wireless charging and it can withstand water immersion. Another important selling point of the device is the 6.7-inch display with the silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This display technology is also used by the regular OnePlus 8. The smaller OnePlus 8 Lite offers the curveless 6.4-inch display with 90Hz refresh rate. Even so, it is still quite impressive in the mid-range market. According to rumors, the primary camera will have 64MP resolution, 20MP for the ultra-wide-angle camera and 12MP for the telephoto sensor with 10x hybrid zoom feature. Its 4500mAh battery is supported by the fast-charging technology. Along with the 5G data connectivity, the OnePlus 8 series won’t come cheap.
