iPad Air (2020) Will Be Released Later This Year

The iPad Air (2019) arrived as a gap between the high-end iPad Pro and the budget iPad. The tablet received generally favourable reviews and there’s rumour that another version is coming. The leaker predicted correctly about Apple’s plan to announce the iPad Pro (2020) series and the new MacBook Air last month. He also suggested that release of the Magic Keyboard just hours it’s made official. His other tweets are about the delays of the iPhone SE (2020) and AirTags, which were also proven correct. The new iPad Air will be equipped with next generation A14X Bionic processor, which will also be used by the upcoming iPhone 12. The tablet will have mini LED 11-inch display with uniform bezels and all-screen design. Visually, it looks like the current 11-inch iPad Pro. The key differentiating components compared to the iPad Pro are the LiDAR scanner and updated camera system.

There will also be the biometric recognition system. The new iPad will be equipped with the in-display version of Touch ID, whereas the current iPad Pro uses the Face ID. Apple has been developing the in-display biometric technology for implementation into upcoming iPhone and Apple Watch models. The third generation of iPad Air or iPad Air (2019) was released on March, 2019, along with the 5th gen iPad Mini. The overall design looks like the previous iPad Air 2. The iPad Air (2019) is powered by Apple A12 Bionic Chip and slightly bigger 10.5-inch Retina Display. We could be certain that the fast LPDDR4X RAM, Bluetooth 5.0 and Apple Pencil technology will be available on the iPad Air (2020) as well. The iPad Air (2019) has 7MP front-facing camera, which was also used by the iPhone XS, which is a noteworthy upgrade, compared to the 1.2MP front-facing camera used by the iPad Air 2.

The iPad Air (2019) has Apple A12 Bionic chip with six cores at 2.49GHz. It is 66 percent faster compared to the Apple A8X chip with three 1.5GHz cores used by iPad Air 2. It is not known whether the iPad Air (2020) will still have True Tone display. It allows the display to properly adapt to the ambient lighting, by changing the intensity and colour in various environments. It is possible that the Lightning port will be retained by the iPad Air (2020). The Apple iPad Air (2020) should have long battery life, equal or longer than the iPad Air (2019) at 10 hours. When it was released, the iPad Air (2019) generally received positive reviews. Reviewers praised the laminated display, high performance hardware and Smart Keyboard case. You need to be aware that Apple has different convention for storage size. 1GB is equal to one billion bytes. It means that the iPad Air with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage option actually provides, 14.9 GiB, 29.GiB, 59.6 GiB and 119.2 GiB, respectively. Because the iPad Air includes the operating system and apps, the actual space available for users is 11.5 GiB, 27.5 GiB, 56.5 GiB and 114 GiB.
