In two weeks, Samsung will introduce its latest flagships, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note Ultra. Thanks to a series of leaked details, there are only a few things that we don’t know about both devices. As an example, the European versions of these devices will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 990 SoC. They will also be available in two colour options, the Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze. Samsung also used the same chipset for the European versions of the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Ultra, which is a disappointment for costumers in the region. Samsung doesn’t have plan to use a newer version of the Exynos SoC. The basic configuration for both Galaxy Note 20 models will include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There will be also 512GB models too and if it’s still not enough, there’s a microSD card slot as well to further expand the storage capacity.
It will come with Android 10 operating system along with the One UI 2.5 interface out of the box. These devices come with the Xbox Game Pass in partnership with Microsoft to provide improved gaming experience. Through this integration, there are nearly 100 games available for users. This makes both Galaxy Note 20 Ultra models work like portable gaming console. Just like previous Note devices, the Galaxy Note 20 will also come with S Pen. Along with the huge display, it will be the best experience yet for long-time S pen users. The 6.9-inch display is based on the Dynamic AMOLED technology with 3200 x 1440 resolution. Its 120Hz refresh rate will enhance gaming experience with buttery smooth animation, while the 19.3:9 aspect ratio is ideal for watching movies.
The upper and lower bezels are very thin to maximize the screen size. Like other more recent Samsung high-end devices, the display will have subtle curvy edges. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be a tad shorter at 164 x 77 x 8mm, compared to the Galaxy S20 Ultra at 167 x 76 x 8.8mm. However, compared to its predecessor, it will be taller because the Galaxy Note 10+ is about 162.3mm tall. The S Pen will have 9ms latency, which will provide near instant response on the screen and real experience, like using an actual pen and paper. This puts the S Pen of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on par with the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. The 4,500mAh battery is supported fast charging feature that allows 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes. Wireless charging will be available too, while reverse wireless charging could be available.
There will be three cameras on the back. The Galaxy S20 Note will be equipped with the same 108Mp primary camera on the current Galaxy S20 Ultra. It is possible that Samsung will fix the autofocus issue of this camera. However, this time, the primary camera will have better 1/1.33-inch aperture size and OIS. There will also be a 12Mp ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree FoV, 1.255-inch sensor size and f/2.2 aperture. Lastly, the 12Mp zoom camera will have 5x optical magnification, 50x Space Zoom and f/3.0 aperture.
