Compared to Apple and Samsung, smartphone makers from China are more willing to take a risk in terms of new designs and innovations. Xiaomi has introduced a brand-new flagship, the Mi 11 Ultra, along with two more affordable Mi 11 models in the same series, the Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11i.
Mi 11 Ultra
Other than the huge camera bump, another distinctive design element is a secondary display on the back. The 1.1-inch AMOLED colour display has 126 x 294 resolution and you can enable the always-on feature. If you want to take a self-photo with the primary camera on the back, the display could become a mirror. With 450 nits of peak brightness, you can conveniently use the display outdoor. The primary display is a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. As a high-end device, the Mi 11 Ultra has Snapdragon 888 chipset, built-in X60 5G modem and Adreno 660 GPU. There are two variants of the model 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage. There are three cameras on the back 50MP wide-angle primary, 48MP ultra wide-angle with 128-degree field of view and 48Mp periscope with 5x optical zoom and 120x AI-enhanced digital zoom. The 67W wired fast charging can top up the 5,000mAh battery in less than 40 minutes.
Xiaomi Mi 11i
The Mi 11i is another smartphone model from Xiaomi that will appeal to many users this year. For people who want exceptional performance at lower pricing, the Mi 11i is definitely a great choice. It has the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, 6.67-inch display, 360Hz touch sampling rate and 120Hz refresh rate. With 1,300 nits of peak brightness, this smartphone is perfectly usable for outdoor uses. On the back, there’s 108Mp primary camera with improved low-light performance. The other two cameras are 8Mp ultra wide-angle camera with 128-degree FoV and 5Mp macro sensor to improve quality when capturing close-up objects. The 33W charger can top up the 4,520mAh battery and the fingerprint sensor is mounter on the side. There are three colour options to choose from, Celestial Silver, Frosty White and Cosmic Black. Priced as low as 650 Euro in some European countries, the Xiaomi Mi 11i would definitely be a very affordable smartphone among competing models with the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
The Mi 11 Lite is the cheapest of all three Mi 11 models and there are 4G LTE-only and 5G variants of the phone. Compared to its two siblings, the Mi 11 Lite is lighter and slimmer, weighing at 159 grams. The 4G LTE model has Snapdragon 732 and 5G model has Snapdragon 780G. The 4G LTE model of Mi 11 Lite has 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The 5G model has two options, 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage. The 6.65-inch AMOLED display offers 90Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ support, 240Hz touch sampling rate and 800 nits of peak brightness. There are also three cameras on the back, 64Mp wide-angle camera, 8Mp ultra wide-angle camera with 119-degree FoV and 5Mp telephoto lens.
