After the official announcements for the Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, rumours about Galaxy S22 are taking the center stage. We have heard some exciting new details about Samsung’s next flagship. It could be powered by the Exynos 2200 chipset that include AMD technology, although it was mentioned that only a few regions will receive models with the chipset. Based on reports, the Exynos 2200 won’t be too far from A14 Bionic chipset in terms of performance. However, it is likely that there will be production issues and the low yield means that only select markets will obtain Galaxy S22 with Exynos 2200. In fact, it doesn’t seem that South Korea is included in the list. For the rest of the world, it seems like consumers will get a variant with Qualcomm 898 instead.

In terms of camera, there’s no report that the Galaxy S22 will have an under-panel camera, just like what we get from the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The RAM and internal storage configuration are likely similar to what we get from Galaxy S21. Even so, we could expect to get an improved photography solution, especially for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. But, it remains to be seen whether the S22 Ultra will have an enhanced variant of the 108MP or Samsung will use a 200MP sensor instead. The South Korean company may focus on the overall quality, instead of the amount of camera resolution. The dazzling specs won’t impress users, if they don’t bring real changes, compared to the Galaxy S21. At the moment, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has 108MP primary sensor, 10MP periscope telephoto sensor with 10x optical zoom, 12MP ultrawide sensor and another 10MP sensor with 3x optical zoom.

Ice Universe, the prolific leaker of Samsung-related details has revealed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will still have 108Mp primary camera. All three periscope 10x optical zoom, telescope 3x optical zoom and ultrawide cameras have 12MP resolutions. On the other hand, Galaxy Club stated that the periscope camera will have 10MP resolution, instead of 12MP. Because both sources have fairly accurate predictions in the past, we could see which one will be true. At the front side, the Galaxy S22 Ultra may carry over the same features. This means, it may still have around 6.8-inch LTPO 120Hz display, which is still adequate for this year’s flagship. Inside, there could be the same 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S21 Plus currently has 4,800mAh battery and the S22 Plus could get a reduced capacity at 4,500mAh. The basic S22 version may have 3,800mAh battery, down from 4000mAh used by the S21. The reduced battery capacities can be a bit worrying, but it should make the device thinner. The more efficient chipset and better display management may compensate for the reduced capacities. Other reports revealed that the basic Galaxy S22 will have 6.06-inch display, compared to the 6.2-inch of the Galaxy S21. The Galaxy S22 Plus may have 6.55-inch display, instead of the 6.7-inch of the Galaxy S21 Plus.
